WCG West Coast Electrical Apprenticeship

Internship

The Western Cape Government Department of Infrastructure invites unemployed young people on the West Coast to apply for funded Electrical apprenticeship training in the construction sector. 


Applicants must be/have:

  • South African citizens aged 18–30

  • Unemployed and live on the West Coast

  • NQF Level 1, Grade 9 or NCV Level 2 with Pure Mathematics

  • Physically fit and willing to work on construction sites


The opportunity includes a R5,500 monthly stipend plus a R2,000 monthly allowance – applications submitted through SA Youth using reference APPELECWC.

NDMC External Bursary Programme 2027

Education

The National Disaster Management Centre invites South African students to apply for its 2027 External Bursary Programme for qualifying studies in Disaster Management, Fire Technology and Fire Engineering. 


The bursary offers:

  • 100% tuition and registration fees

  • Support for undergraduate and postgraduate study

  • Research allowance of up to R11,000 for qualifying Master’s students


Applicants must be studying, accepted or applying to a recognised public higher education institution. Minimum academic averages are 60% for undergraduate or postgraduate diploma students and 65% for Master’s applicants.

WCG Health & Safety Officer Training – West Coast

Education

The Western Cape Government Department of Infrastructure is offering funded Health and Safety Officer NQF Level 4 training for unemployed young people residing in the West Coast. 


Applicants must be/have:

  • South African citizens aged 18–34

  • Unemployed and live in the West Coast

  • NQF Level 3, Grade 11 or NCV Level 3

  • Willing to undergo medical and substance-abuse examinations

  • Physically able to work on construction sites


Successful participants receive a R3,000 monthly stipend and R2,000 monthly allowance during the training agreement.

Funding

The Western Cape Government has partnered with FinFind to help micro, small and medium enterprises find suitable business funding opportunities at no cost.


Through the platform, businesses can:

  • Complete a funding request based on their needs

  • Get matched with suitable finance providers

  • Explore loans, grants, equity and other funding options

  • Learn what is required to qualify for different types of finance


FinFind provides access to a database of 300+ funders and 600+ funding products across government, banking and the private sector.

SEDFA Youth Entrepreneurship Fund

Funding

The Youth Entrepreneurship Fund supports South African entrepreneurs aged 18–35 who want to start or grow sustainable businesses.


The fund aims to help young entrepreneurs:

  • Start a new business

  • Grow an existing enterprise

  • Create sustainable employment

  • Build stronger, thriving businesses


Qualifying applicants may access funding of up to R5,000,000. Businesses must be registered with CIPC and have at least 51% youth ownership.

Creating Hope Africa’s Adult Education Training Programme offers FREE learning opportunities for adults and out-of-school youth in Velddrif and surrounding communities. 


The programme supports learners with:

  • Preparation for employment opportunities

  • The opportunity to work towards the GETC, equivalent to ABET Level 4 and Grade 9
