Youth Employment & Leadership Accelerator Programme
The 2911 Velddrif Youth Employment and Leadership Accelerator Programme aims to support unemployed young people through structured mentorship, well-being support, career guidance, and skills development opportunities in ICT and Tourism.
The programme prioritises unemployed young people residing in the Greater Velddrif Area (Velddrif, Laaiplek and Noordhoek) who demonstrate motivation to pursue a career in Information Technology and tourism, employment pathways and personal development. The first cohort will consist of 30 participants.

Eligibility Requirements for 2027
Applicants must meet all the following criteria:
Age
Between 18 and 30 years old
Employment
Currently unemployed
Residence
Resident in the Greater Velddrif Area
Education
Mandatory Grade 9 (min) - 12
Commitment
Willing to attend programme sessions and mentorship activities
Career interest
Interested in pursuing opportunities in ICT or Tourism
Availability
Available to participate in activities for the full 11-month programme
Motivation
Demonstrates willingness to improve employability & personal development
Personal Attributes Sought

Selection Process
The selection process will follow four stages to ensure fairness and transparency.
Step 1: Application
Complete Application form online or complete form at Velddrif Youth Café
Step 2: Screening
Applications screened based on criteria by a qualified panel of mentors
Step 3: Interview
Shortlisted candidates participate in a simple interview with the 2911 mentors
Step 4: Selection
Final selection announced at the 2911 Career Day on the 29th of April 2026
